The Coalition serves as a clearinghouse for media and citizen grievances that involve open meetings and open records, and offers guidance to reporters in local government situations. The activities of the Coalition include monitoring government officials for compliance, filing "amicus" briefs in lawsuits, litigation, and public education.
 
Ohio Citizen Action is the state's largest environmental organization, with 100,000 dues-paying members. Political contribution information is on the site.
 
Money in state politics plays a pivotal role in shaping public policy in individual states and across the nation. The nonpartisan Institute on Money in State Politics tracks contributions in all 50 states and makes the data easily searchable.
 
The first national Sunshine Week: Your Right to Know was launched March 13, 2005 and continued through the following Saturday. The spirit of Sunshine Week, however, lasts through the year, as newspapers, magazines, broadcasters, web sites and others continue a dialogue about the importance of open government to the public.
 
The Center for Responsive Politics is a leading nonpartisan research group and maintains one of the most expansive web sites on campaign finance. CRP conducts computer-based research and produces analytical reports on the role money plays in elections. In addition to maintaining Congressional Candidate Profiles searchable by state, CRP offers access to several online publications such as: Who's Paying, stats at a glance on the funding of U.S. elections; Digital Democracy, a report on computerizing campaign finance disclosure in each state; Money in Politics Reform: Principles, Problems and Proposals, an analysis of current campaign finance legislation and proposals for reform; and Enforcing Campaign Finance Laws, an agency model.
 
 
As part of the NFOIC's continued efforts to support citizen access to government information, the Freedom of Information Resource Web project provides a comprehensive guide to obtaining information guaranteed under state and federal open meetings and open records laws.
 
An independent non-governmental research institute and library located at The George Washington University, the Archive collects and publishes declassified documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act. The Archive also serves as a repository of government records on a wide range of topics pertaining to the national security, foreign, intelligence and economic policies of the United States. The Archive is also a leading advocate and user of the Freedom of Information Act. The web site contains information on FOIA and how to make a FOIA request.
 
OpenTheGovernment.org is a coalition of journalists, consumer and good government groups, environmentalists, labor and others united to make the federal government a more open place in order to make us safer, strengthen public trust in government, and support our democratic principles.
 
The New America Foundation is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit public policy institute that was conceived through the collaborative work of a diverse and intergenerational group of public intellectuals, civic leaders and business executives.
