General Elections
In
even-numbered years, the general election for federal, state and
county officers is held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday
in November. Offices that are nominated and elected include:
Federal:

The
U.S. President and Vice President (four-year terms)

Two
U.S. Senators (six-year terms)

All
members of the U.S. House (two-year terms)
State:

State
Governor/Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State,
Auditor of State, and Treasurer of State (four-year terms)

All
state representatives (two-year terms)
-
Justices
of the Supreme Court (overlapping six-year terms)
-
Courts
of appeals judges (overlapping six-year terms)
-
State
Board of Education (overlapping six-year terms)
County:
-
Three
county commissioners (except in Summit County), auditor, county
prosecutor, sheriff, recorder, treasurer, engineer, coroner and
clerk of courts (four-year terms)

Judges
of the common pleas courts and county courts (overlapping six-year
terms)
General
elections for local offices are held on the first Tuesday after the
first Monday in November in odd-numbered years. These offices
include:
Constitutional
amendments and state and local issues may be placed on the ballot
during any scheduled election in any year. |
